Learn to play this beautiful instrument in one afternoon! In this single 3-hour class the students will go from little or no prior experience in playing the Native American flute to being able to play the basic Native American scale, and receive numerous handouts for additional skill development afterwards. Basic skills taught will include fingering patterns, breath control, playing rhythms and basic ornamentations. NO PRIOR MUSICAL EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. A basic Native American flute will be required for this class and will be available to borrow from the instructor or to purchase from the instructor.

This class is for the intermediate level flute player who can play the basic Native American scale. You will learn some of the alternate scales that can be played on the six-holed Native American flute including: the jazz scale, the major scale, the blues scale, the Celtic scale, and several more. Handouts will include tablature for many alternate scales. Participants may bring any flutes they own, in any key. Flutes in several keys are available to purchase from EarthSpeak.

Attend a Rävenwolf flute class and pick up a custom made Rävenwolf flute. Made by Jon Norris, of Jon Norris Music & Arts, the flutes are crafted from beautiful aromatic cedar in the key of A minor and laser etched with the Rävenwolf logo. Each flute is reasonably priced at $80.



Frank completed a six-day workshop and received a certificate in Native Flute Facilitation and Musicianship from the Flute Haven Native Flute School in Phoenixville, PA in October 2009, and then served as a faculty member there every year from 2010 through 2016. BASIC FLUTE INSTRUCTION PRICING (Within the Philadelphia metropolitan area)

$100 per two-hour private lesson for 1 person
$65 per person for two hour lesson for 2+ people
(other travel expenses may be required, depending on class location)
Private home concerts start at $200 for 2 hours, depending on type of event and location, plus permission to sell CDs on-site.
